The third single in RIP Records' monthly 'Introducing' series comes in the shape of this glorious off-kilter synth-pop number by long distance Chicago/NYC-based collaborative duo Water From Your Eyes. 'Cold Stare' is a wash of warm and fuzzy analogue synthesizers, driving drumbeats and laid-back vocals, reminiscent of Broadcast. The lyrics work in direct contrast to the feel-good melodies in the track, hinting towards feelings of isolation and anxiety in social situations, unearthing the band's darker side. 'Cold Stare' will feature on the RIP Records compilation 12" at the end of the year, whilst their debut album, Long Days, No Dreams is available to pre-order now via Sooper Records. -HLMX
